Legionnaires Raising Money For Local Hospice

For a third straight year, the Sarnia Legionnaires have partnered with the St. Joseph's Hospice in hopes of raising at least $5,000 for the local facility.

At home games during January, the Legionnaries will wear special hospice warmup jerseys that fans can bid on at the games.

Owner Theo Bet says the partnership began when GM Bob Williamson's wife Sharon passed away at the hospice.

Bet says the Legionnaires have also provided the hospice with hundreds of game tickets. The hospice will then sell the tickets and keep the proceeds.

The Legionnaires' next home game is Thursday, January 15 against St. Thomas.
