Iconic Golden Hawk Back At Germain Park (Gallery)

After 22 months of restoration, the iconic F-86 Sabre Golden Hawk has been carefully attached back to its perch at Sarnia's Germain Park.

Coordinator Mark Seibutis says 5,500 man hours went into the project. He says it wouldn't have been possible without donations from local companies that kept restoration costs down.

The monument to World War Two airmen, first stationed in the park in 1973, was taken down in February 2013 to be refurbished.

A re-dedication ceremony is planned for the spring.
