Research Park Increasing Stability

Sarnia-Lambton's Western University Research Park is receiving international praise from the University Business Incubator .

The latest UBI Index ranked the research park 22nd globally and 7th in North America among business incubators.

The research park announced Wednesday they finalized a five-year lease with a biomedical research company, Western Phytoceutica Inc.

Executive Director Tom Strifler says the new company is a unique one for them.

Strifler says most of the tenants are under contract for at least three years, giving them stability going forward.

With the new lease, the Research Park is now operating at 97 per cent occupancy, a significant improvement from the under 50 per cent occupancy in October 2012.
