UPDATE: Strong wind gusts possible with thunderstorms on Saturday

As a line of thunderstorms moves through the region, Environment Canada warns strong wind gusts of up to 90 km/h are possible.

Environment Canada is warning residents in Sarnia, Courtright, Corunna, and Point Edward that they could be in for a very wet and very windy time.

The area is under a severe thunderstorm watch, and strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees, and overturn large vehicles.

The agency said hail, heavy rain, intense lightning, and even tornadoes are possible.

Environment Canada recommends residents monitor forecasts and alerts.

The thunderstorms will dissipate Saturday evening, although some areas may continue to receive significant rainfall into Sunday.

A severe thunderstorm warning for Watford, Pinery Park, East Lambton County, Strathroy, Komoka, and West Middlesex County has ended.
