Transport Canada adds to list of Ford vehicle recalls

More Ford vehicles are the subject of recalls, not even a month after 2,950 small SUVs were affected due to a risk of fires.

Transport Canada has recalled 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Ford Bronco Sport SUVs, as well as 2022 Ford Mavericks due to a risk of crash.

"The powertrain control module and body control module may not detect a change in the charge of the 12-volt battery," said a notice posted on Transport Canada's website. "As a result, the engine could stall."

It adds the engine may not restart after a start-stop and the hazard lights may not work.

A small number of 2024 Ford Mavericks have also been recalled due to incorrect information labels.

The tire and loading information label could be inaccurate, leading to the potential overload of the vehicle or over inflation of the spare tire. It affects trucks with the XLT trim level, FX4 package, and 4k trailer tow package.

All affected Ford owners will be notified by mail. If your vehicle is affected, it's suggested you take it to a dealership to be fixed. You can also check the status of your vehicle using Ford's website.
