The County of Huron will host a two-day THRIVE Economic Development Summit on May 14 and 15 at the Blyth Community Hall. It's a collaboration between the Economic Development Department and local municipal partners.
"It will be focusing on key economic development issues being faced by both business owners and municipalities throughout Huron County, and quite frankly, the issues really relate to our neighbouring municipalities and businesses as well," said Vicki Lass, director of economic development. "It's an open invitation for people who are interested in looking at issues like welcoming communities, improving your tourism marketing, and workforce attraction and retention."
Attendees will hear from guest speakers, panel discussions, and be involved in breakout sessions.
"We feel the value of the summit is that we're bringing resources to the community that otherwise they would have to travel to conferences in Toronto or beyond and pay pretty steep fees to hear some of these speakers," said Lass. "It's a learning opportunity, which we take very seriously to provide learning opportunities for our community as well as our municipal partners."
She adds it's also a chance for businesses and municipal representatives to talk business and become united.
Tickets can be bought for $45 plus tax for one day or $75 plus tax for both days.
