The Durham Hospital Emergency Department. (Photo courtesy of Google)A sudden shortage of nurses has resulted in the South Bruce Grey Health Centre closing the Durham emergency department for the remainder of the day.
The Durham Hospital ED will reopen Wednesday (April 3) at 7 a.m.
Ambulance by-pass will be undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.
The hospital stopped it's overnight service last month, so the ED would normally close at 5 p.m.
