The Municipality of Central Huron and the Town of Hanover are cashing in again as part of their agreement to host gaming sites.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has handed over the first quarter (April 1 – June 30) payment totaling $146,029. Central Huron has received $13,160,255 since Gateway Casinos Clinton opened in August 2000.
A payment totaling $266,088 was made to the Town of Hanover for hosting Playtime Casino Hanover. Since that casino opened in February 2001, Hanover has received $21,734,167.
OLG shares gaming revenues across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue for the hosted site.
“Host communities support important community programs and services and strengthen their local infrastructure with these gaming revenues,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. “These financial supports help fund the vital programs and services that residents can depend on for their future.”
Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue and 100 per cent of OLG’s profits are reinvested in the province.
