Letters targeting residents flying Pride flag under investigation

The Owen Sound Police Service is investigating after numerous offensive letters were anonymously sent to residents flying the Pride flag.

According to police, numerous residents around town displaying the Pride flag at their homes have been targeted with "offensive, harassing, and intolerant letters delivered to their homes anonymously through the mail, addressed to 'Prideman'."

The Criminal Investigations Branch in Owen Sound has now launched what it's calling a "priority investigation" into the source of the letters.

Police have already spoken to a number of residents who received a letter, and are asking anyone else who may have received one to not open it, and bring it to Owen Sound Police for inspection. Grey Bruce Pride can also be contacted and can hand the letters over on your behalf.
