A Hanover man and a woman from the Toronto-area are the top prize winners of the spring edition of London’s Dream Lottery.
The winners were announced Thursday morning from the Royal Oak Dream Home in Thorndale.
Ted Stiemann, a Hanover resident, was the grand prize winner. He will get to choose between the dream home in Thorndale, another dream home in Port Stanley, plus $200,000 in cash, or the all-cash option of $1 million. Stiemann could not be reached at the time of the draw Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Derdridre Breton of North York is the winner of the 50/50 draw, with a total payout of $601,770.
“I can not believe it!” Breton could be heard exclaiming over the phone during the announcement.
All winning numbers for the Dream Lottery were drawn on Wednesday at the office of MNP located at 255 Queens Avenue.
“To every person who purchased a Dream Lottery ticket, thank you for choosing to care and making a difference for the patients and families at our hospitals,” said London Health Sciences Foundation President and CEO John MacFarlane. “Your support makes state-of-the-art equipment, specialized treatment options and groundbreaking research possible."
The winners of several other remaining top prizes, including a Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special valued at $34,693, a $5,000 dream vacation package from Robert Q Travel, and other packages and cash prizes will be announced daily starting July 1 to October 31, 2023.
"The unwavering support Dream Lottery receives from our community is inspiring,” said St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation President and CEO Michelle Campbell. “My sincere thanks to loyal ticket purchasers for investing in patient care at London’s regional hospitals.”
