Incident during arrest results in police use of taser

A recent incident that eventually led to an arrest saw officers utilize a taser to apprehend an individual.

Huron County OPP were called to a disturbance on January 17 at 9:20 p.m. on Brandon Road in the Municipality of Huron East near Ethel. When police arrived, they interacted with a male at a residence who was what police describe as verbally abusive and the individual allegedly uttered threats towards police. The male individual came out of the residence and police say he continued to be noncompliant with officers, at which point an officer used a taser to subdue the man and police safely placed him under arrest.

Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old from Huron East with Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

The accused remains in custody awaiting bail.
