Crews from Wingham and Blyth were suported by tankers from Lucknow and Howick.
Officials report that there were no injuries or livestock lost.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
The expanded hours were approved by council at a special meeting Monday.
The pilot is funded until March 31, 2026.
