A Wingham retirement home will close its doors this year.
In a statement released Thursday evening, officials at Braemar Retirement Centre stated that regrettably, they must close the retirement home part of the operation.
Braemar also runs a long-term care centre.
The focus will be on, "providing exceptional long-term care to the community, both in our current premises and, in the future, in a new building."
Braemar Retirement Centre will cease operations at the retirement home on May 15.
From now until that time, the release states staff will continue to "provide the residents with the high-quality care and services that they are accustomed to receiving from the staff."
Braemar's Administrator, Archie MacGowan, says they will do everything they can to make the transition as seamless as they can for everyone.
MacGowan also states in the release that Braemar has greatly appreciated the many contributions that residents and their families have made over the years at the retirement home.
