Owen Sound native Larisa Yurkiw is competing in the Lake Louise Alpine World Cup starting today.
Yurkiw finished in 51st place in training, finishing her thrid run in 1:56.97. That's 4.49 seconds off from first place finisher Mirjam Puchner
Fellow Canadian Valerie Grenier finished in 40th place. American Lindsey Vonn was second, 0.12 seconds behind Puchner.
Racing begins at 2:45 p.m. EST today with the Audi FIS World Cup Downhill.
