A Stratford area coach has been added to Softball Canada's U18 Men’s National Team coaching staff.
Don Scott has been added to the coaching staff for the 2026-27 WBSC World Cup cycle, Softball Canada announced in a press release on Thursday.
Bryan Brooks of Napanee, Ontario will serve as head coach, with Scott and Jean-Yves Doucet of St-Leonard-d’Aston, Quebec as assistants.
Scott had his first experience as a coach with the U18 Men’s National Team in 2025 after serving as an assistant coach on Brooks' staff.
During his playing career, Scott played for the Men’s National Team program from 2007 to 2013 including a 2013 WBSC Men’s World Cup appearance. He continues to play at the Master Men’s level and has won three consecutive Canadian Championship gold medals with the Cobourg Force, while also being head coach of the 2025 U23 Men’s Canadian Championship gold medallist Rostock Junior Batmen.
