The Owen Sound Attack have named forward Pierce Mbuyi the 30th captain in franchise history.
The OHL team noted that Mbuyi, who joined the Attack as a rookie last season, is a natural choice.
“Pierce leads by example through hard work, character and commitment,” said Attack head coach Scott Wray. “We are proud to name him captain, knowing he'll guide this team with the same determination he brings every day."
Mbuyi joins a list of players who have captained the Attack since the franchise relocated to Owen Sound in 2000.
“It’s an honour to be named captain of the Owen Sound Attack,” Mbuyi said. “I am very grateful for the opportunity and to be recognized by the organization to serve as our next captain.”
The announcement also names Noah Nelson, Jake Crawford, and Lenny Greenburg as the team's Assistant Captains.
