Eagles beat Chiefs to win Superbowl

The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl LIX Champions.

They embarrassed the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 on Sunday to win the franchise’s second Vince Lombardi Trophy. The Eagles first won in 2018, beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

The Eagles opened the scoring on their second drive of the first quarter. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was able to find the endzone with a one-yard run.

Kicker Jake Elliott extended the Eagles lead to 10 with a 48-yard field goal in the second quarter.

A few plays later, cornerback Cooper DeJean intercepted Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes and brought it back for a touchdown.

The Eagles ended an impressive first half with a 12-yard passing touchdown from Hurts to wide receiver AJ Brown.

Elliott added a second field goal in the third quarter before the Chiefs turned the ball over on downs. Hurts found wide receive DeVonta Smith on the very next play for a 46-yard touchdown.

The Chiefs would get on the scoreboard before the end of the third quarter thanks to a 24-yard touchdown from Mahomes to wide receiver Xavier Worthy. They were unable to make the two-point conversion putting the score at 34-6.

Elliott got his third and fourth field goals in the fourth quarter.

Mahomes later found wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for a 12-yard touchdown and Worthy for a 50-yard touchdown. Two-point conversions were made on both drives to make the score 40-22.

That was a close as the Chiefs would get as the Eagles were able to stop an on-side kick and kneel out the rest of the clock to win.
