A strong third period helped the Owen Sound Attack beat the Brampton Steelheads.
They hosted Brampton Sunday afternoon and won 5-3 with forward Landen Hookey leading the way offensively.
It was the Steelheads who opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal from Angus MacDonell in the first period.
The Attack tied the game in the second period when Declan Waddick found the back of the net for his 9th goal of the season. Getting the only assist on the play was Hookey.
Around five minutes later, Hookey gave the Attack their first lead of the game with his 21st goal.
However, Mason Zebeski would score under a minute later to tie the game at two goals apiece.
The third period saw four goals, three coming from the Attack.
The first came from Tristan Delisle who scored unassisted for his 8th of the year. Harry Nansi later scored his 6th goal from Ben Cormier and Jake Crawford. The third goal was an empty netter from Pierce Mbuyi. His 17th goal was assisted by Hookey.
Troy Patton scored with 33 seconds left in regulation to cap the scoring.
With the win, Owen Sound's record improves to 16-26-3-3, while the Steelheads move to 20-19-8-0.
The Attack’s next game is on Friday, February 7, on the road against the Kitchener Rangers.
