Attack lose to Flint at home

Owen Sound couldn’t beat Flint despite a two-goal lead.

The Attack hosted the Firebirds on Saturday and ended up losing 5-4.

It was former Attack forward Sam McCue who opened the scoring in the first period for Flint.

Easton Mikus would get his first career OHL goal just over a minute later to tie the game. Getting the assists were Ethan Kindree and Harry Nansi.

Cole Zurakowski gave the Attack its first lead of the game around halfway through the period. His 8th goal was assisted by Pierce Mbuyi and Michael Dec.

Flint would enter the first intermission tied thanks to a goal from Urban Podrekar.

The first two minutes of the second period saw two goals from the Attack. Both were scored by Jake Crawford, his 6th and 7th of the season, with Declan Waddick getting the only helper on the goals.

Matthew Mania would find the back of the net for Flint in the period before Christopher Thibodeau would tie the game at four goals apiece.

The only goal in the third period came from Flint’s Nathan Aspinall.

With the loss, Owen Sound sees its record drop to 13-24-2-3, while Flint moves to 18-21-2-2.

The Attack's next game is on Wednesday, January 22, at home against the Barrie Colts.
