It’s a game the Owen Sound Attack are going to look back on as one they could have won.
They were in Ottawa on Sunday taking on the 67’s and ended up losing 4-3. The Attack outshot Ottawa 31-24 but gave up seven powerplays.
Owen Sound opened the scoring just over a minute into the game when Jake Crawford found the back of the net for his 5th of the season. Sam McCue and Landen Hookey with the assists on the play.
Calgary Flames’ prospect Henry Mews would tie the game later in the first period before McCue gave the Attack its second lead of the game. McCue’s goal was assisted by Braedyn Rogers and James Petrovski.
The second period saw two goals with both coming from Ottawa. Mews got his 2nd of the game to once again tie the score with Cooper Foster scoring to give the 67’s their first lead of the game.
The third period saw Ethan Kindree get his first career OHL goal for the Attack. The only helper on the play went to Ben Cormier.
Owen Sound couldn’t get the lead back. With just under five minutes to play, Brady Stonehouse would score on the powerplay for the 67’s.
With the loss, Owen Sound’s record drops to 6-11-2-2, while Ottawa moves to 8-7-2-2.
The Attack’s next game is on Friday, November 22, on the road against the London Knights.
