Ty Sebastian shines as Canada splits doubleheader at WBSC Softball Men's World Cup

In an eventful doubleheader on Thursday, Team Canada finished the day with a 2-1 record at the 2024 WBSC Softball Men’s World Cup Group B, securing a decisive 7-1 win against Singapore before falling 2-0 to Argentina.

Brussels native Ty Sebastian was a standout performer in Canada's victory over Singapore. Despite conceding a solo home run in the first inning, Sebastian dominated on the mound, striking out 15 of 22 batters and walking only one.

In the second game, Canada faced a tough challenge against Argentina. Despite loading the bases in the first inning, Canada couldn't capitalize. Argentina broke the deadlock in the fourth inning, scoring one run on a series of small plays before ultimately beating Canada 2-0.

Canada now holds a 2-1 record at the WBSC Softball Men’s World Cup and is set to play New Zealand Friday night in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan at 9:00 pm.
