Mitchell strikes back in PJHL Division Final

Goaltending was the story again in the PJHL Pollock Divison Final.

Mitchell beat Hanover 2-0 in Game 2 of the series in Mitchell Thursday night.

The opening goal of the game came at 8:51 in the first period. Caleb Musselman picked up his fourth of the playoffs, tipping in a shot from the point. And that was it for the rest of the period and there was no scoring in the second.

In the third, the Hawks sealed it with an empty net goal off the stick of Sean Chisholm at the 17:51 mark.

But it was all goaltending through the rest of the game.

Mitchell goalie Tyler Parr made 46 saves for the shut out.  In nine playoff appearances, Parr is 8-1 with a 1.00 GAA and has a .968 save percentage.

And while Hanover's Riley McCabe only faced 19 shots, he was called upon to make some big saves.  McCabe is 6-1 in the playoffs with a 0.97 GAA and .963 save percentage.

With the series now tied at one, Game 3 of the series will be in Hanover Friday night at 8 p.m.

Game 4 is back in Mitchell on Sunday at 3 p.m.

CKNX will carry Game 4 of the series, immediately following Game 3 of the Listowel - Kitchener-Waterloo game on Sunday.
