Goderich native pitches his team to a championship in Taiwan

A Goderich native helped his baseball team in Taiwan win a professional championship.

Brock Dykxhoorn is a pitcher with the Uni-President Lions, which won the final in seven games and Dykxhoorn was named the outstanding player of the series.

Dykxhoorn started both Games 1 and 5, picking up a no decision in the team's 4-2 win in the first game and then a 6-0 win in a Game 5 shut out.

In Game 7 on Sunday he earned the save, closing things out in the eighth and ninth innings.

The 25-year old Dykxhoorn joined the Uni-Lions in Taiwan in July.
