Two games, two shut outs

The Hanover Barons and Kincardine Bulldogs were able to keep their opponents off the scoreboard Sunday.

The Barons beat Walkerton 7-0, getting the game going with a goal just 1:43 into the first period courtesy of Mark Aljoe.  Brock Hoelscher would score under a minute later to make it 2-0.

Hanover opened it up in the second period scoring four times. Zack Cameron scored twice, once on the power play, and Alex Paylor and Ethan Hebel also scored.  In the third period Luke Hoelscher scored the only goal.

Hanover out shot Walkerton 45-30 with Brendon Landry picking up the shut out. Cam Plante took the loss for Walkerton in net.

For the Hawks it was their second loss in three games over the weekend after falling to 7-0 Mount Forest Friday night, then picking up a big road win 4-3 in Mitchell Saturday.

 

In Goderich, the Flyers couldn't beat Jamie Brock in a 5-0 Kincardine win.

The Flyers were out shot 44-19 by the Bulldogs.

Mike Fiegehen and Bryce McFadden each had a pair of goals and Brett Angel scored once.

For Goderich, Spencer Lazarevich stopped 39 shots after coming into the game.

The win keeps Kincardine in the mix, tied with Mitchell for fourth while Hanover is just a point behind second place Mount Forest.

Coming up this week in the Pollock Division, a rare midweek game with Wingham in Mitchell Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m.. Then Friday night's schedule features Kincardine in Wingham, Mount Forest in Hanover and Goderich in Walkerton.
