Seaforth's Robyn Doig enjoyed her best result ever at this year's DCM PGA Women's Championship of Canada in Toronto.
Doig shot consecutive rounds of even-par 72 to finish in a tie for 8th place. She says she was particularly pleased with the result because the event drew an exceptionally deep field.
And one of the keys to her result, work on her swing.
“Over the past year or so I've been really working on my swing, specific things in the swing, targeting areas that always, sort of, a downfall of the swing and taking the time to actually fix them," said Doig.
She adds the success she had on the Australia Tour this winter gave her a lot of confidence this summer and she admits, confidence is everything.
“Confidence is everything, because when you stand over the ball and you're thinking to yourself, I know I can do this, I've seen it before, this is where I'm gonna put the ball versus like, oh well, the last one went left and I can't go left this time.”
Doig's next event will be the Seaforth Country Classic on her home course starting on August 1st.
