The Mount Forest Patriots didn't let a first round bye slow them down in their push to get back into the PJHL Pollock Division Final.
The Patriots doubled up Walkerton 4-2 to sweep their semi-final series.
Riley Cribbin continued his torrid pace, scoring his sixth goal in four games to open up the night at 8:09 of the first period. He then picked up the assist on Jacob Miller's goal as Mount Forest led 2-0 after the first period.
Cribbin leads the Patriots in scoring with 10 points in just four games.
Walkerton would try to build some momentum in the second when captain Justin Donnelly scored just 21 seconds into the period to cut the lead in half. But midway through the period, Klayton Hoelscher scored his sixth goal of the series to give Mount Forest the two goal lead once again.
The third played out pretty much the same. Walkerton's Adel Zivojevic scored early to make it 3-2 but Jack Birkett put it out of reach midway through the third.
All of the goals came even strength as Mount Forest went 0-for-6 on the power play and Walkerton 0-for-5.
David Lobsinger made 24 saves in the Patriots' net while Matthew Donnelly stopped 46 shots.
The win puts Mount Forest into the division finals for the third consecutive season.
The other semi-final continues Friday night with the Wingham Ironmen in Kincardine for the 8:25 p.m. start. Wingham has a 3-0 series lead.
