Patriots Score Early, Hold On For Win

The Mount Forest Patriots got a goal 44 seconds into the first period and held on for the 6-4 win over Wingham in the opening game of the PJHL Pollock Division semi-final series.

Ryley Cribbin scored that early goal. Blair Butchart and Ryan Maksymyk would add two more as Mount Forest took a 3-1 lead after the first 20 minutes. Carter Collinson scored on the power play for Wingham.

The teams would exchange goals in the second and each team would score twice in the third period leading to the 6-4 final.

Three of Wingham's goals were scored on the power play as the team went 3-for-8 on the man advantage. Mount Forest was 2-for-5.

Game 2 of the series is Sunday night in Wingham at 8:00pm.

Meanwhile Game 2 of the Kincardine - Walkerton series is this afternoon in Kincardine at 2:25pm. Kincardine holds the 1-0 series lead.
