Attack Complete Trade With Erie

The Owen Sound Attack add a scorer to their ranks.

The team announced Saturday that they are acquiring right winger Cade Robinson from the Erie Otters in exchange for defenceman Luke Beamish.

Robinson, an 18-year-old from Jackson, Michigan, has appeared in 82 career games for the defending J. Ross Robertson Cup champion Otters, collecting six goals for 20 points.

Attack general manager Dale DeGray says Robinson will be a big help to the Attack almost immediately.

"Cade is a big, skilled winger that can come in here and add another dimension up the right side for us," says DeGray in a press release. "Cade is a player that has experience winning a championship. We're very happy to be able to acquire him and can't wait to insert him into the lineup.``

Mississauga native Beamish, 17, played in a total 32 games for the Attack with three assists, all coming this season. DeGray says he made a move to ensure Beamish is getting the playing time he deserves.

"As hard as trading away a player like Luke is, this move makes us better and provides him an opportunity to join an Erie team that will rely on him moving forward,`` says DeGray. ``We'd like to thank him for his efforts these past two seasons and wish him nothing but the best in the future."

Robinson is expected to be in the Owen Sound lineup when the Attack travels to Oshawa Sunday afternoon.
