The St. Anne's Eagles from Clinton lost a close one, 12-10,. to a Smith's Falls team in the bronze medal match of the OFSAA 'A/AA' Girls Rugby Championships.
Coach Ryan Clancy says its an end of an era of sorts, as the team will be losing many of its players.
"We have a big number of graduates on the team this year," said Clancy. "So last year we only had three key players graduate and move on. This year I believe we have 14."
He says they will have to regroup and retool for next year.
"And these were unbelievable high level players that were able to get an antique bronze four years ago. a lot of them when they were in Gr. 9."
Clancy says the Clinton school represented their region proudly and played a high level rugby.
Stacy Masse was recognized as Woman of the Match for St. Anne's.
