The Chepstow U18 softball team whipped a Saskatchewan team 21-6 at the Canadian Championship in Saskatoon.
Every player in the Chepstow line up had at least one hit. Justin Donnelly led the team going 4-for-4. The team scored twice in the first and third innings while scoring seven in the second inning and 10 in the fourth ending the game at that point.
With the win, Chepstow is now 2-1 in the tournament and is scheduled to play three games on Thursday and will face Campbellford, Newfoundland and BC.
At the U16 Canadian Championship in Owen Sound, the Belmore Sting split it's first day.
Belmore beat Shallow Lake, the host team, 4-0 but then fell 7-5 to Newfoundland.
Shallow Lake rebounded from it's first lost and beat a Saskatchewan team 14-0.
Both teams will play two games today with Belmore playing Napanee at noon and Nova Scotia at 4pm. Shallow Lake faces Kitchener-Waterloo at 1pm and a Saskatchewan team at 6:30pm.
