Chepstow OASA Elims Win, Elmira Tops At Hallman Tournament

The Chepstow Lang Farms Midget Fastball Team will compete at a national level thanks to making the finals at the OASA Elimination Tournament in Cobourg.

Chepstow put an exclamation mark on the effort by winning U18 Final 11-10 over Wellesley in 10 innings.

Both teams qualify to go to Saskatoon, SK for the national tournament which will be held August 9th to the 14th.

At the Peter Hallman Memorial Fastpitch Tournament in St. Clements, Elmira won the final 4-2 over Wiarton.

The Nationals built a 2-0 lead after the third inning but Elmira responded scoring all of their runs in the fifth inning.

Tyler Randerson earned the win throwing seven innings and allowing one earned run on six hits with no walks. Andy Jackson took the loss allowing four runs on eight hits. He struck out four and walked two.

Randerson helped himself out, hitting a home run and so did Elmira teammate Scott Lealess. Tyler Pauli had a triple.

For Wiarton, Adam Stuck hit a home run.

In the U21 Final, Tavistock outscored the Owen Sound Select Jrs 12-9.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
