Chepstow added another win at the U-16 Boy's Canadian Fast Pitch Championship by beating Newfoundland 10-1.
Chepstow's offense set the table by pushing four runs across the plate in the top of the first inning. The Lang Farms Lightning would then score twice in the second and add four more in the fifth. Newfoundland's only run came in the bottom of the first.
Briten Marcell picked up the win allowing the one earned run over five innings and struck out seven.
Chepstow will face Glencoe, ON and a Nova Scotia team during the second day of the tournament on Thursday.

The Chepstow Lang Farms Lightning won their opening game at the U-16 Boy's Canadian Fast Pitch Championship with a 10-0 win over the host team, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
After a quiet first two innings, Chepstow ignited the scoreboard with six runs in the bottom of the third highlighted by Logan Bell's three run home run. Ben Newell also hit a home run for Chepstow as part of a four run fourth inning.
Mac Fischer pitched for the Lightning, recording 10 strike outs in five scoreless innings. He only allowed two hits and was named player of the game for Chepstow.
Chepstow now faces Newfoundland at 5:30 p.m. EST.
