The roster is filling up for next week's Hometown Heroes Charity hockey game in Goderich.
The game takes place next Thursday, July 23rd at the Maitland Rec Centre in Goderich and will include:
- Boyd Devereaux (former Detroit Red Wing and Stanley Cup Champion from Seaforth) - Dave McLlwain (former NHLer from Seaforth) - Brett Maclean (former Phoenix Coyote) - Kevin Czuczman (New York Islander from Port Elgin) - Cal and Ryan O'Reilly (Buffalo Sabres from Huron County) - Justin Peters (Washington Capitals goalie from Blyth) - Anthony Peters (Goalie in AHL from Blyth) - Alex Peters (Flint Firebirds [OHL] defensemen from Blyth) - Liam Maaskant (former Kitchener Rangers captain from Goderich Township) - Kenny Huether (Memorial Cup winner with the Oshawa Generals from Londesborough) - Ray Huether (North Bay Battalion centre from Londesborough) - Nick Spaling (Toronto Maple Leafs forward from Palmerston) - Brandon DeFazio (Calder Cup Finalist with the Utica Comets)
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb is co-ordinating the event with proceeds from the game going to the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich, the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health in Seaforth and the Goderich-Huron YMCA. This is the second year for the event. Last year's game raised over $40,000.
