Local Players Taken In OHL Priority Selection

Two local players are now the property of OHL teams. Listowel's Kade Landry and Jakob Lee of Owen Sound were drafted in Saturday's OHL Priority Selection.

Landry was taken by the Barrie Colts in the seventh round. He got the call at home, watching the results with his family.

"Finally seeing my name there was such a relief and such an honour," says the defenceman and Huron Perth Lakers captain. "Barrie is such a first class organization and I couldn't have had it any better."

Lee was taken in the 11th round, picked by the Guelph Storm. He led the Grey Bruce Highlanders in scoring this past season.

The Owen Sound Attack were also busy, making two first round picks. They took Markus Phillips from Toronto with their ninth pick and Nick Suzuki of London at number 14.

While not taken in the draft, Mildmay's Colton Culbert has received an invite to the Guelph Storm rookie and main camp. He spent this season with the Hanover Barons and was the Western Junior C rookie of the year.
