Hornets Bounce Back To Avoid Sweep

The Alliston Hornets got their first win against the Walkerton Hawks, taking game 4 by a 3-2 score at home. Alliston now stays alive as they faced a sweep heading into the night.

It would be the host Hornets scoring first. After keeping the Hawks pinned in their own zone, the puck fell in front of the net to Joe Cochrane, who opened the scoring. Only 20 seconds later Jacob Tuck doubled the scoring to 2-0 going into intermission.

Walkerton found their legs in the second and were rewarded for their hard work. After an Alliston penalty the puck worked around to Calvin Penney, who put it away into the empty net.

Unfortunately for the Hawks the excitement was short lived. Alliston's Nic Archibald would score moments later.

The Hawks carried the play in the third, pushing for the tying goal. The best chance came with 2.5 seconds on the clock when Brett Coulson found a loose puck a few feet from the net. Alliston would manage to keep the effort from crossing the goal line to extend the series at least one more game.

Game 5 goes friday night in Walkerton. All the action can be heard live on CKNX, CKNX.ca and the Blackburn Radio app.
