Exeter Begins Schmalz Cup Run In Essex

The Exeter Hawk's first ever run at a provincial junior C title begins Tuesday night against the Essex 73's. Exeter will be on the road for game 1 against last year's Clarence Schmalz Cup finalists.

To get there, the Hawks swept Dorchester in 4 games to win the SOJHL title. Stars Chase Thornton, Tyler Kettler and Max Naus will be key for the Hawks. Each have scored over 20 point in playoffs with Thornton putting up 33 in just 12 games.

Essex has some firepower of their own with Tyler Scott leading the way scoring 21 point in Great Lakes Junior C playoffs. Goalie Noah Hendrik has posted a 2.23 goals against average and a .909 save percentage on the way to 11 playoff wins.
