A proposed residential development that could bring dozens of new housing units to Hanover will be the focus of a public open house Thursday night.
The Town of Hanover is considering a zoning amendment for a property at 853 Grey Road 28 that would allow construction of a six-storey apartment building containing 87 units.
The proposal also includes townhouse development on the eastern portion of the property, which would need to be rezoned from Future Development to Residential Type 4.
The apartment building would have a maximum permitted height of 20 metres.
Plans also include provisions for rooftop beehives and solar panels on buildings and parking structures.
The application was originally scheduled for consideration by council on October 19, 2026, but was deferred to allow for additional public consultation.
"Council will consider public feedback prior to approving the proposed development," an official notice from the town said.
Thursday's open house runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hanover Community Hall, located at 341 10th Street.
Representatives from the town and the developers will be available to discuss the proposal and answer questions.
A formal statutory public meeting will be scheduled for a later date before council makes a decision on the zoning amendment.
