The Town of Minto has shared that a third-party auditor has given the town a thumbs up on its drinking water quality.
According to a release from the Town of Minto, the annual drinking water system inspections and its independent third-party audit of the town’s drinking water quality management system show "excellent drinking water quality."
All four of the town’s drinking water systems – Clifford, Harriston, Minto Pines and Palmerston – received 100 per cent final inspection ratings following their annual inspections by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP).
The town also successfully completed its mandatory third-party Drinking Water Quality Management System audit, conducted by Intertek, with zero non-conformances.
Additionally, the Town of Minto states that the current water systems are meeting community needs, and staff are looking ahead to ensure its infrastructure can support future needs. That includes investigating new potential well sources in Palmerston and Harriston.
"Our residents can be confident in the quality of their drinking water and the work being done to protect this essential service," said Mayor Dave Turton, Mayor of the Town of Minto. "These results reflect the dedication of our water department team and our commitment to responsible, long-term planning for our communities."
