Stratford police seize guns and drugs in search warrant

A Stratford man is facing multiple charges after police seized weapons and illegal drugs.

Stratford police, with support of the Emergency Response Unit and Uniform Patrol, executed a search warrant just before 5 p.m. on Friday.

Officers report that a 40-caliber Glock 27 handgun, a Glock 27 magazine with ammunition, a prohibited butterfly knife, 8 grams of methamphetamine, and hydromorphone pills were seized during the search.

Police arrested four people but charged only one, releasing the other three.

A 55-year-old Stratford man has been charged with several firearms and weapons-related offences, possession of illegal substances, breach of probation, and breach of multiple weapons prohibition orders.

He was held for bail and remains in custody at this time.
