Georgian Bluffs is getting into the spooky spirit this week by inviting residents to grab their proton packs and head to Kemble Arena for a free pop-up Halloween movie night.
On Friday, October 9, the township will transform the arena located at 319897 Kemble Rock Road into an indoor cinema for a classic screening of the 1984 favourite, Ghostbusters. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the movie kicking off at 6:30 p.m. and running until 8:30 p.m.
Admission is free for all ages, and standard seating will be available on site. Attendees are also welcome to bring along their own lawn chairs, blankets, or patio cushions to get extra cozy during the show. No previous paranormal investigation experience is necessary to attend.
Guests can stop by the concession stand for assorted snacks, Twinkies, and fresh popcorn generously provided by sponsor Eh!Tel Networks. The community event is also made possible with support from Hutten Land & Shore.
Beyond the movie, the evening pulls double duty for local administrative and charitable needs. Township election staff will be stationed at the arena throughout the night to answer municipal election questions, process voter updates, and help residents verify their details on the Voters’ List.
Attendees are also encouraged to check their closets for gently used Halloween costumes they have outgrown. The township is collecting costume donations at the door to support an upcoming Community Costume Swap scheduled for October 23, aiming to make Halloween more affordable and sustainable for local families.
