Halloween will take over Harrison Park later this month as Owen Sound prepares for the inaugural Haunt at Harrison.
Georgian Sunset Events has partnered with the Roxy Theatre to present a full line-up of Halloween experiences from Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Co-organizer Britt Dawson shared that families can enjoy the Haunt both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
"There will be free family events during the day, including entertainment," said Dawson. "There's a full vendor Market happening day and night, kids' entertainment, kids' contests, kids' games."
Then at night, participants can enjoy a ticketed lineup of spooktacular thrills.
"We'll have haunted experiences. So there's a lantern walk, scare trails, and a haunted house, which all have live actors in them. There are escape rooms provided by 519 Productions," Dawson explained. "There are two Escape rooms. They're five-minute escape rooms. We have our nighttime attraction entertainment, so we have fire breathers, sideshow performers, and some musical guests as well."
Dawson added that the event has grown into a true community project, with a number of community sponsors and local businesses stepping forward to support the event.
"We do have costume contests. A costume contest during the day for the kids. We have trophies for that," Dawson continued. "We also have costume contests throughout the whole experience. So, every day, every night, all night, all day. We have trophies. We have things to give away. Then on Sunday we have a pet costume contest as well."
Proceeds from the event will support Special Olympics Ontario Owen Sound. The event is being co-organized by Jess Degagne.
