Heritage Park drainage work contract awarded

Council for the Township of Huron-Kinloss has awarded the tender for drainage channel restoration in Heritage Park.

The nearly $888,000 bid by Roubos Farm Services was successful to win the project, which includes drainage and trail upgrades to address ongoing flooding, and improve stormwater infrastructure.

The Township says grants provided through the Green Municipal Fund will cover up to 90 per cent of project costs.

Temporary park closures will be required when restoration work begins. However, the Township says a start date for construction has not been finalized, as the project is awaiting approval from the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority.

The equipment was recently upgraded through the Township's Playground Revitalization Program.
