Fall traditions are returning to Brockton as the Walkerton Agricultural Society prepares to host the 2026 Walkerton Little Royal Fair from Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18.
Walkerton Agricultural Society spokesperson Ashley Droefke said the annual autumn event promises a full weekend of agricultural showcases, family entertainment, and interactive displays at the fairgrounds.
"So this year again, we've got the same things returning that we always love to showcase, like our midway and our Field-to-Fork display, along with our general exhibits," she added. "New this year, we have the Cutting Edge Cowgirls, with a show at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Little Rodeo Pro on Friday has shows at 6, 7 and 8 p.m."
Gates open Friday evening, with outdoor escape room trailers, featuring "The Room Trailer" and "The Hot Seat," open to the public.
General exhibit halls open at 6 p.m., displaying local arts, home crafts, baking, and agricultural entries.
Saturday, October 17 offers a full slate of activities starting at 9 a.m. with the Saddle Horse Show in the Horse Palace.
Family and children's programming runs throughout the day in Building #3, featuring the Teddy Bear Show at 9:30 a.m., face painting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and multiple performances of Mojo The Magic Show along with balloon twisting scheduled at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m..
The final day of the fair, Sunday, October 18, places a heavy focus on local livestock and youth activities. Things get underway at 9:30 a.m. with the Kids Pedal Tractor Pull in front of Building #1, where all young participants go home with a prize, alongside registration for the Pet Show, which begins judging at 10 a.m. Kids can catch the Magic Mel Show at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. in Building #3, while equestrian fans can head to the Horse Palace at noon for the Heavy and Light Horse Show, followed by the Ontario 4-Horse Hitch Draft Classic Series at 3:00 PM.
Ongoing attractions available throughout the entire weekend include food booths, the "Field to Fork" interactive agricultural display, a photo booth, a kids' scavenger hunt, and midway ride wristbands.
Admission for the 2026 event is set at $5 for a student pass, $10 for a day pass, $15 for a weekend pass, and $25 for a weekend family pass.
With the exception of identified service animals and animals participating in scheduled livestock or pet shows, pets are not permitted on the fairgrounds.
