The City of Owen Sound is getting ready to replace concrete sidewalks along 8th Street East, with work scheduled to run from Monday, October 5 through Thursday, October 8.
Construction will focus on the block between 2nd Avenue East and 3rd Avenue East, requiring daily road closures between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Local traffic, including nearby residents and customers visiting neighbourhood businesses, will still be able to access the street during construction hours. Pedestrians will also be able to get through smoothly, as crews plan to keep at least one side of the sidewalk open at all times.
Garbage pickup will not be affected by the project, as Miller Waste vehicles will continue their usual routes through the area. Drivers and pedestrians heading through the downtown core should expect minor delays and use caution near the work site.
