Ontarians who have helped drive economic growth, create opportunities, and champion rural parts of the province could be honoured with a provincial award.
The Ontario government is currently accepting nominations for the 2027 Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards. People, organizations, businesses, and communities can be nominated in one of eight categories: Rural Inspiration, Rural Community, Rural Entrepreneur, Rural Youth Leader, Rural Economic Innovation, Rural Partnerships, Rural Champion, and Rural Heart.
“In rural communities across the province, people are making a difference every day by stepping up, creating opportunities, and helping to build a stronger rural Ontario,” Minister of Rural Affairs Lisa Thompson said in a statement. “The response to last year’s Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards showed us how important it is to recognize and honour those contributions, and we’re proud to continue that celebration in 2027.”
Nominations are being accepted at Ontario.ca/RuralAwards until October 23.
The Ministry of Rural Affairs hosted the inaugural Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards in January 2026.
