A traffic stop involving a suspected impaired driver in Owen Sound ended with officers seizing cocaine, fentanyl, and a sawed-off shotgun.
Owen Sound police said on Monday that the traffic stop was one of four involving suspected impaired drivers in the city over the weekend.
After stopping the vehicle, police found several weapons including a sawed-off shotgun, a taser, and a prohibited knife. An undisclosed quantity of cocaine and fentanyl was also located.
The driver, an adult man, was arrested and charged with 26 offences including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and impaired driving.
Police said it was part of a busy 72 hours during which officers responded to roughly 200 calls, resulting in a total of 65 criminal charges being laid.
