United Way Bruce Grey (UWBG) will be bringing special training sessions to Owen Sound on disability awareness.
The Disability Awareness and Confidence Training is a partnership between United Way, Life Directions and the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN). The two sessions will be held on Wednesday, September 23.
According to a press release from United Way, the training "is designed to help employers, nonprofit organizations, service providers, board members and community leaders build the knowledge and confidence needed to create more accessible and inclusive workplaces and organizations."
Both sessions will take place in the Lower Hall at the Harmony Centre Owen Sound at 890 4th Avenue East, with the entrance located off 9th Street. The first will be 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. called Disability Awareness and Confidence Training for Service Providers. The second session will be 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. called Disability Awareness and Confidence Training for Nonprofit Boards.
