Local business owners in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound will soon have a direct line to discuss federal economic policy.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff announced he will host a Finance and Economic Roundtable alongside the Hon. Michael Chong, Shadow Minister for Finance, on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Capabilities, tax structure, and local growth opportunities will headline the discussion. The session is designed to bring together regional business owners, operators, and financial experts to share ground-level perspectives on the economic challenges currently facing Midwestern Ontario.
"The discussion will focus on the federal government’s role in advancing economic opportunities and needed tax reform for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound and the country," MP Ruff's office stated in a media release.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas on how federal policy decisions directly impact regional trade, local investment, and long-term economic prosperity.
The roundtable is scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Sound Room at the Bayshore Community Centre, located at 1900 3rd Avenue East in Owen Sound.
