A midwestern Ontario native is heading to television’s most grueling arena.
According to an official Paramount+ press release, 30-year-old game designer Danny Kilby has been named to the cast for the 51st edition of Survivor. Kilby is originally from Mount Forest and currently resides in London, Ontario.
Kilby will be one of 21 new castaways competing for the $1 million grand prize. He is one of two Canadian contestants entering the island competition this season, alongside 34-year-old voice actress Ana Sani, a native of Richmond Hill, Ontario.
According to host and executive producer Jeff Probst, Season 51 marks the debut of the show's unpredictable "Open Era". Under this brand-new format, twists, idols, and advantages from any previous season throughout the show's decades-long history can re-emerge at any time without warning.
The milestone season officially kicks off on Wednesday, September 23, with a special two-hour premiere. Episodes will air on CBS and stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
