No-swim advisories in place at four Huron County beaches

Heading into one of the few remaining summer weekends, there are four Huron County beaches to avoid.

Weekly testing by Huron Perth Public Health found high E.coli bacteria levels at Port Albert, Goderich Rotary Cove, Hay Township, and Pavilion Road beaches. As a result, all four beaches are deemed unsafe for swimming because contact with E. coli-filled water can cause infections and stomach illness.

Signs warning people to stay out of the water have been posted and will remain in place until future testing shows bacteria levels have subsided.

The water at the beaches will be retested on Friday, with updated results to be posted on Saturday at www.hpph.ca/beachinfo.
